The EA888 in the Polo GTI is the same well-proven unit used across the VW Group performance range. At 207hp it runs significantly below the engine's capability — headroom that a specialist remap can safely unlock.
A Stage 1 remap requires no hardware modifications. Our specialist software recalibrates boost, fuelling and ignition timing within the engine’s safe limits, delivering instant, driveable gains.
What Changes
Boost, fuelling and ignition timing are recalibrated on the EA888. In a lighter car than the Golf, the torque increase feels even more dramatic — sharpening the already excellent Polo GTI into a genuinely rapid hot hatch.
Factory boost is set conservatively. We raise it to the level the turbo and internals can comfortably sustain, unlocking power that was always there.
Fuel delivery is recalibrated to match new boost levels precisely — giving a cleaner burn, better response and improved efficiency under light loads.
Timing is advanced where the engine can safely benefit, improving combustion efficiency and delivering more torque across the full rev range.
The factory throttle map is deliberately muted. We sharpen it so the car responds the moment you press the pedal — no lag, no hesitation.
